In the old days in Iceland, the single ply wool yarns were spun by hand and preferably so fine and thin that a finished knitted shawl could be pulled through a finger ring.
Spinni is not so thin, and we use the yarn in many different contexts. Knitted in single thread, it is very suitable for lace-knitted scarves, and it is distinguished by maintaining its fine structure, so that the scarf does not "fall apart". Knitted in the round on a circular needle, the knitted fabric will tend to twist crookedly. If you are using Spinni with other yarns, this will usually not be a problem. For colourwork, Spinni is often included as one of the qualities, and the yarn, with its beautiful and characteristic structure, is a fine element in the knitted fabric.
